The MMC D-2401-2 Portable Gauging Tape is an intrinsically safe triple-function ullage, interface and temperature gauge designed for accurate measurement of liquids in marine cargo tanks and hazardous areas. The MMC D-2401-2 combines three important tank measurement functions in one portable gauging instrument: ullage measurement, oil/water interface detection, and liquid temperature measurement.
Designed for marine and petroleum applications, the MMC D-2401-2 UTI tape uses a calibrated gauging tape and electronic sensor to determine the liquid level and identify the interface between non-conductive products such as oil and conductive liquids such as water. The instrument also provides digital temperature measurement in either °F or °C, making it suitable for cargo measurement and tank inspection operations.
The MMC D-2401-2 features an intrinsically safe construction for use in hazardous environments and is certified for applicable hazardous-area applications. Its design includes a sealed electronic assembly, stainless-steel fasteners, conductive tape surface for static charge dissipation, grounding cable, daylight-readable LCD display, night-light function and low-battery indication.
The MMC D-2401-2 UTI gauging tape is available in multiple tape lengths, including 15 m, 25 m, 30 m and 37 m, as well as 50 ft, 75 ft, 100 ft and 120 ft versions. The system provides linear measurement accuracy of approximately ±3 mm plus ±0.01% of total tape length for metric readings. Temperature measurement accuracy is specified at approximately ±0.2°C over its calibrated range.
